Lloyd A. Broullire
KINGSFORD — Lloyd A. Broullire, 98, of Kingsford, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain, surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 13, 1928, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Joseph and Clara (Green) Broullire. Lloyd graduated from Niagara High School in 1946 and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served his country as a United States Army veteran during World War II.
Lloyd married Betty Poad on Dec. 8, 1951, and they shared 62 years together before Betty’s passing in 2014. He was employed at the Niagara Paper Mill for 42 years, retiring in 1990.
Lloyd was a dedicated and hardworking man who lived a life defined by quiet strength, generosity, and devotion to his family.
He led by example and lived his faith by serving others. An active member of the First Global Methodist Church in Iron Mountain, Lloyd served the church in many capacities and was a trustee for several years. He was also a proud life member of the American Legion. Known by family and friends as a gifted handyman and true “Jack of all trades,” he earned the affectionate nickname “MacGyver” for his remarkable ability to fix anything.

Lloyd found great joy in the simple things. He was an avid gardener, especially known for his excellent beans, and took pride in his canning. He lived a simple, honest life and was deeply generous with both his time and talents. Whether helping family or friends with projects around the home, Lloyd was always ready to lend a hand. Above all, his family was his greatest priority and his deepest source of happiness. He cherished every moment spent with them and found his greatest fulfillment in supporting and caring for those he loved.
Lloyd is survived by a son, Allen (Teena) Broullire of Kingsford; a daughter, Nancy (Tracy) LaFleur of Kingsford; a son-in-law, Mark Hansch of Iron Mountain; grandchildren Kortnee (Nick) Fornetti, Jourdan (Emily) Broullire, Amber (Jeramiah) Butterfield and Michael (Lindsey) LaFleur; and great-grandchildren Kaleb, Emery, Jude, Lucas, Aubree, Hailee, McKenna (Will), Traci, Jaxson, Konnor, Grayson, Calum and Isaiah.
