Rose Skibo

She was born March 6, 1926, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Peter and Victoria (Bray) Kania. Rose grew up in Mansfield Township.

She married Matthew Skibo on Sept. 1, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2000.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Fran Bjork of Crystal Falls, and Karen Ventura of Shoreview, Minn.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Becky Skibo of Madison, Wis.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her son, James Matthew Skibo.

Visitation will be from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church of Crystal Falls, with Father Dan Dapaah officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Guardian Angels Church or St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Rose Mae’s memory.
