VULCAN -- Daniel Edward Ehnis, 86, of Vulcan, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wis.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Quigg) Ehnis.
Dan graduated from Dexter High School in 1957 and worked on his family's dairy farm.
He married Beverly Kubicsko on Sept. 5, 1964, in Dexter, Mich.
In 1973, Dan and Beverly purchased their own dairy farm in Vulcan and continued to farm until he retired in 2016.
He was active in 4-H in the community, selling many of his beef cattle, pigs, sheep and goats to the local kids in 4-H. Dan enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors working and his 12:30 break.
Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly; sons Mark (Gini) Ehnis of Marquette, Joseph (Lisa Hoffman) of Carney and Matthew (Joy) of Peoria, Ill.; daughter Leslie (Tony) Zeman of Bassett, Neb.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Mary Craig of Dexter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Ehnis; and brothers David, Joseph and James Ehnis.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
