David P. Kruger Jr.
CECIL, Wis. — David P. Kruger Jr., 61, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at his home, in the arms of his loving wife, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
David was born Sept. 26, 1964, in Green Bay, Wis., the son of the late Ralph Hoag and Sandra Carr Hoag. In 1969, he moved to Iron Mountain, where he was raised as a Yooper before returning to the Green Bay area in 1985. Although he was originally a member of the Class of 1982, he later earned his GED in Menominee. David worked as an industrial rubber roller technician for many years before retiring in 2003.
In his free time, David enjoyed working on cars and restoring a wide variety of items. He especially loved his small collection of late-1970s Ford vehicles. David always considered himself a preservationist, taking pride in preserving and restoring the things he cherished.
David is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Audra Synol Kruger of Cecil; daughter, Allana (Berelc) Bass of Green Bay; sister, Tara (Ron) Hoag Barber; and all of his fur babies. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with David’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service Inc. of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements. Please share online condolences at www.mickelsonfs.com.
“The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided to David, as well as to Meals on Wheels for their support.”
