Harold 'Mick' R. Beauchamp
IRON MOUNTAIN — Harold “Mick” R. Beauchamp, 78, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Known to nearly everyone simply as Mick, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a man of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for his family and community.
On Dec. 9, 1967, Mick married the love of his life, Barbara (Coppo) Beauchamp. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and caring for others.
Mick proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a long career with the Operating Engineers. His commitment to serving others extended far beyond his career. He faithfully served for many years as Breen Township Supervisor and was instrumental in helping establish the local ambulance service, leaving a lasting legacy of service and compassion to his community.
An outdoorsman at heart, Mick loved hunting, fishing with his grandchildren, and spending time at camp. He took great pride in making camp a beautiful place, often spending countless hours on his skid steer improving the property. Some of his family’s favorite memories were made there, enjoying the simple moments together that meant the most.

As the oldest of 10 children, Mick naturally became a leader within his family. After the loss of his own father at a young age, he helped care for his mother and younger brothers and sisters. His selflessness, responsibility, and willingness to help others remained defining qualities throughout his life.
Mick faced his illness with courage and determination. Even through difficult treatments and hospitalizations, he remained surrounded by the unwavering love of his family. His strength, resilience, and gentle spirit inspired everyone who knew him.
Mick is lovingly survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara (Coppo) Beauchamp; his daughters, Rhonda Johnson (Larry) and Renee Wickman (David Peters). He was a proud grandfather to Mark Wickman (Niki), Victoria Nett (Scott), Evan Wickman, Cory Johnson (Audrey Scholander), and Erica Roell (Christopher). He was a cherished great-grandfather to Jackson Wickman; Emma, Alena, and Weston Nett; and Dawson, Scarlett, Sawyer, Faron, and Veronica Roell, with another great-grandchild expected soon. He is also survived by his siblings, April Wonders (Pete), Nancy Urbany (Jim), Anita Mattson (the late Alcid Mattson), Terry Lindeman (Terry), Tim Beauchamp (Jody), Wanda Beauchamp, Todd Beauchamp (Heather), and Traci Johnson (Kevin).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Beauchamp and Janet (Cory) Beauchamp; his sister, Diane Beauchamp; and his brother-in-law, Alcid Mattson.
Mick will be remembered for his love of family, his generosity, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. Whether he was serving his country, his community, working with heavy equipment, enjoying the outdoors, or simply spending time with those he loved, he lived a life of purpose and integrity.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, hospice team, and caregivers whose compassion and kindness brought comfort to Mick and to all who loved him throughout his illness.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, Mick’s legacy will live on in every hunting trip, every fishing story, every gathering at camp, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
