NORWAY -- Janice Marie Tinti, 87, a lifelong resident of Norway, passed away peacefully in the home she loved for over 60 years on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with her son, Mark, at her side.
Janice was born on Jan. 31, 1939, in Norway, the daughter of the late Louis and Esther (Cologna) Pellegrini.
She graduated from Vulcan High School in 1956.
Janice was born from humble beginnings, raised in a modest home at the end of the Great Depression. Every year she missed the first four weeks of school to help her family at the farm picking beans.
She married Ernest Tinti on Oct. 6, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. He preceded her on Jan. 30, 2000.
Janice worked one year in Milwaukee, returned to Norway to work at Asselin Creamery and then worked for more than 50 years at Holmberg General Agency.
Janice's favorite holiday was Christmas; she enjoyed giving gifts and decorating her house, even winning a Christmas light display contest. She took great pride in her appearance and making her house a home. She was very good homemaker -- the house was always clean, she also loved cooking for her family, saying, "If you can read a recipe, you can cook," she enjoyed walking and caring for her flowers.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Carla) Tinti; grandchildren Jonathan, Dominck and Elizabeth Tinti; brother-in-law Larry (Sue) Tinti; sisters-in-law Joan Tinti and Margie Meneghini; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; parents Louie and Esther; infant brother Ronnie; brothers Billy, Charlie and Roger; sister Dorothy; brothers-in-law George Tinti, Ron Ferris and Lee Meneghini; many beloved cousins; and family friends.
Family will greet friends on Monday, Aug. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at the church, with Father Mark McQuesten officiating.
Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
