Linda Raether

Linda was born Oct. 1, 1944, and was delivered by Nurse Carlson at the family home in Foster City. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Georgina (Carlson) Raether. A 1963 graduate of Felch High School, Linda was a telephone operator working for Michigan Bell and took a position in the construction department at AT&T in Marquette before retiring in the early 1990s after 30 years of service.

Both a Minnesota Vikings and Michigan State basketball fan, Linda enjoyed feeding and watching birds and maintaining her beautiful flower gardens, just like her mother.

Linda is survived by her two brothers, Gary (Lorraine) Raether and Guy (Kathy) Raether; two brothers-in-law, Darwin Dixon (Bonnie Carignan) and Gary Sturm; her best friends, Shirley (Bonetti) DeRidder and Mary Lou (Kenny) Baldrica; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lola Dixon and Lois Sturm.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at the church. Father Mark McQuesten will offer the Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in the Felch Cemetery.
