Peter Javoroski

He was born in Stambaugh on June 14, 1941, to the late Steve and Doris (Olsen) Javoroski. Peter was a graduate of Iron River High School. Although he attended both U of M and NMU, he graduated from Northern State University in South Dakota, receiving his bachelor’s degree.

On April 15, 1989, Peter was married to the former Ann Lundquist in Iron River. His dedication to his work as an English teacher was recognized and appreciated by many of even his most challenging students. Peter loved reading, playing golf and watching baseball. Difficult puzzles and preparing and presenting exquisite meals also brought him a lot of joy.

Peter will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Ann Javoroski; his son, Marc (Teresa) Javoroski; stepchildren Lisa Osterberg, David (Robin) Osterberg, Benjamin (Pamela) Osterberg, Alan (Rebecca) Osterberg and Kristin Osterberg (Lon Weber); five grandchildren, Steve Javoroski, Kori Javoroski, Riley Osterberg, Samuel Osterberg and Nathaneal Osterberg; three great-grandchildren, River McArthur, Alastair Garces-Javoroski and Cana Garces-Javoroski; his two siblings, Robert (Lynn) Javoroski and Leslie Davis; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Peter is preceded in death by his son, Adam Javoroski.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a later date.
