Susan Beckerson

Born on July 12, 1955, in Duluth, Minn., Susie was the daughter of Donald Holliday Jr. and Marion (Girard) Holliday. She found love with Dennis Hartman and got married on Oct. 2, 2021, on the farm in Webberville, Mich.

Susie will be remembered for her loving, supportive, and gracious spirit. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Over the years, she became a second mom to many, offering encouragement, kindness, and a nurturing heart to friends and anyone in need. Along with her gentle nature, she also had a sweet, sassy sense of humor that brought smiles to those around her.

She found great joy in spending time outdoors, whether tending to her garden, watching birds, or walking along the beach collecting shells, shark teeth and rocks. Susie loved to travel with family and friends and was always ready for her next adventure.

A parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Fowlerville, Mich., for more than 10 years, Susie found comfort and community in her faith. She especially enjoyed sharing her love of music as a member of the church choir.

Susie will be missed by her husband, Dennis Hartman; her children, Jessica Hartman, Becky (Jon) Raether, Christy Hartman, Matthew Beckerson, Dennis Hartman, Casey Middlesworth and Adam Hartman; siblings Beth (John) Larson, Diane (Mike) Gregg, numerous grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marion Holliday; and siblings Mark Holliday, Curt Holliday, Ann Holliday.

Susie’s family and friends will gather 11 a.m. to noon, with scripture service at noon, on Tuesday, July 21, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fowlerville, Mich. Deacon Bill Kenny will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
