IRON MOUNTAIN -- Charlene A. Qualley, 92, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, surrounded by family.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1934, in Iron Mountain to the late Leonard and Louise Johnson. After graduating from Iron Mountain High School, Charlene went on to Columbia Hospital School of X-ray, where she obtained her X-ray tech license. She worked as an X-ray tech at Dickinson Hospital and then the VA medical center, where she later retired.
Charlene married Lloyd Qualley on June 18, 1955, and moved to Oshkosh, Wis., where they started their family. In 1970, the family relocated to Iron Mountain.
As a young woman, Charlene enjoyed downhill skiing, water skiing, camping and later vacationing with her husband.
She especially enjoyed building their new home in Felch (AKA Camp Qualley), where she hosted many family gatherings and parties. It was always a great time.
Charlene is survived by her sons, Brian (Gayle) and Craig; and her grandchildren, Jon, Riannon (Thad) Harrison, Clay, C.J. and Courtney, Audrey Sparpani and Brett Sparpani.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
