VULCAN -- George J. Tomasoski, 81, lifelong resident of Vulcan, passed away on Jan. 8, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., after a brief illness. George was surrounded by his nieces, Candy Brew and Theresa Granquist. Candy talked lovingly to George until his peaceful passing, letting him know how much he was loved.
He is survived by his brother, Robert (Cindy) Tomasoski; brother-in-law James Finn; nieces Theresa (Terry) Granquist, goddaughter Gina Zanon, Lia (Rich) Nichols, special niece and caregiver Candy (Tim) Brew, Jodi (Roy) Merrill, and Jennifer (Jeff) Zahn; seven great-nieces and two great-nephews; three great-great-nieces and one great-great-nephew; special uncle/friend Johnny Jacklovitz; and his wonderful neighbors, Tom and Joy Moroz
George was proceeded in death by his parents, Leona (Nonie) and Lawrence Tomasoski; and sisters Marie (Tootsie) Zanon and Peachie Finn.
George worked at Grede Foundry for 43 years. George was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time at his camp. His favorite activity was hunting. George loved dogs, especially beagles, which he had through most of his life. George loved his family and had pictures of all of them lovingly displayed in his living room.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Hayes and his staff, St. Vincent Hospital's staff, and all the family and friends who called to check on him. The family will be eternally grateful to Candy Brew, without whom his last few years at home would not have been possible.
Per George's wishes, everyone is welcome to attend his graveside memorial that will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Norway Township Cemetery, with Pastor Langlais officiating.
