DUNBAR, Wis. -- Geraldine "Toby" Fay Groleski, 83, of Dunbar, passed away on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert J. Groleski.
Toby was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alice Petersen, and her sister, Judi Gleasner.
She is survived by her sister, Carolyn "Petey" Keeley of Dunbar; and her children, Tim (Nancy) Heideman, Kelly Gehling, Ann (Richard) Brown and Jeff Groleski.
Toby was born in 1943 in South Carolina, and later moved to Sturgeon Bay, Wis., where she spent most of her childhood. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1961.
She treasured many wonderful memories of the area and spoke of them often.
Toby worked as the administrator's assistant at Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine High School for nearly 25 years. She enjoyed her time at the school and was known for always having an Oreo to share with students and adults who were having a hard day. When she retired, the school honored her with a Wonder Woman T-shirt, a fitting tribute to the kindness and strength she shared with so many.
Toby enjoyed spending time in her beautiful garden, reading, baking pies, camping, and fishing.
She especially loved time spent with her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild on the way.
She will be deeply missed for her sense of humor, her joyful spirit, and her beautiful smile.
Toby loved making people smile, and she leaves behind many who will cherish her warmth, generosity, and love.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, followed by the funeral service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
A celebration of life will be held at Richard's Supper Club (Holly Room) in Dunbar immediately following the burial services.
