NIAGARA, Wis. -- Deborah Cecile Curran, 75, of Niagara, Wis. and Carmichael, Calif., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026.
Debbie was born on March 30, 1951, in Escanaba, to the late Carl and Cecile (Potvin) Johnson.
Debbie met the love of her life, George Curran, while they were in high school. They were married in 1972 in Escanaba after George returned home from serving in Vietnam. In 1985, they moved to Niagara, where they raised their two children, Jennifer and Nick.
Debbie dedicated many years of service to Forward Financial Credit Union, formerly Niagara Area Credit Union, where she held a variety of positions throughout her career, including teller and vice president of marketing and human resources. She was admired and loved by all who knew her for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others. Debbie had a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for.
An avid gardener, Debbie took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens, which brightened the lives of family, friends, and neighbors alike. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She treasured her grandchildren, Tristan and Hailey, and delighted in sharing stories about them with anyone who would listen. Her home and office were filled with photographs that reflected the deep love and pride she had for her family.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Brad) Houle; her son, Nick (Natacha Eustache) Curran; her sister, Carla Marco; her brother, Steve Johnson; and her beloved grandchildren, Tristan Eustache and Hailey Houle.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, George Curran; and her siblings, Dick Johnson, MaryAnn Mayrand, Joan Jacobson, Cynthia Peterson, and Bill Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held in October 2026. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.

Debbie will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
