NORWAY -- Loretta J. Schultz, 91, of Norway, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.
She was born on June 5, 1935, in Rhinelander, Wis., the daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche (Trickey) Norton. Loretta graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1953.
She married Burnell "Bud" Schultz on June 25, 1955, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Rhinelander. He preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2016.
Loretta was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. She was an avid Brewers and Packers fan and loved watching her grandchildren activities and sporting events.
She was a cook at the Rialto, Northwoods, the Norway Hotel and the Cornerhouse. She and Bud owned and operated the Stoplite Bar for 10 years and owned Loretta's Catering for more than 40 years, celebrating many weddings, events and funerals all over the Dickinson County area, always known as the People's Choice for catering several years in a row.
Loretta is survived by her son, Timothy (Sandy) Schultz of Norway; daughter Lisa (Wayne) Malone of Norway; grandchildren Natasha (Jesse) Cronick, Tim (Amanda) Schultz Jr., Anna (John) Neumeier, Katie (Larry) LaPine, Samantha (Dan) Willman, Jennifer (Miguel) Hernandez, and Eric (Michelle) Forstrom; great-grandchildren Owen Cronick, Mason, Brinlee and Lane Schultz, Liam and Ally Jo Willman, Charlie, Ellie and JJ Neumeier, Kaleb and Aubree Lapine, Claudia (Eric) DeClark, Benito, Gino and Sofia Hernandez and Cameron Clifford; great-great-grandchildren Scarlett and Lilly DeClark; sisters Caroll Levanetz of Rhinelander and Debbie Newman of East Amherst, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Schultz; sisters Bonnie (Ron) Ludwig and Marion (Al) Sharka; and brothers-in-law James (Madeline) Schultz and Morrie Newman.
Family will greet friends on Monday, Oct. 12, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's in Norway.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at the church, with Father Abraham Mupparathara, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
