NORWAY -- Robert John Macaux, 81, formerly of Spread Eagle, Wis., and Brookfield, Wis., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Evergreen Meadows Assisted Living in Norway, with his son, Benjamin Macaux and wife, Pamela Witter, at his bedside.
Instead of sharing in his obituary his accolades and accomplishments, he asked Pamela to share with all the following in his own words in 2025:
He was in the loving care of his primary caregiver, Pamela Witter, who he affectionately called "Witter."
"Witter," his family and friends were with him. Connor (grandson) "More fun than a Barrel of Monkeys" and Caroline -- "SWEET Caroline" -- are in his hearts, as are their parents, Ben and Meghan Lamb Macaux. His first family, Lisa and Julie, and her family are there as well. Bob thanks you all. He feels blessed. Please, all of you, watch over and be there for one another. (RJM 4.5.2025)
Bob is survived by his wife of 46-plus years, Pamela Witter; son Benjamin Macaux (Meghan Lamb); and daughters Julie and Lisa Starr of Green Bay, Wis.
Family and friends are invited to a gathering at the Knight Owl in Norway on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. to recognize, honor and join together.
Pamela would like to thank SO MANY "loyalists" -- family and friends who would visit Bob, week to week, month to month and support her.
BIG SHOUT OUT to OSF Chaplin Jason Janich for his "way" with Bob and Pamela. Also, Evergreen Meadows administrators Debrah and Alyiah and the CARE givers -- too many to mention -- ALL were "thumb up" and enabled Bob to be cared for with dignity, tender attention, love until his last breath.
Pamela is SO GRATEFUL for Steve Ortman, Ortman Funeral Home, Norway, and Thomas Ribbons--Funeral Director, Waukesha, Wis. -- the BEST!
Internment will be at a later date at Wisconsin Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, Wis.
