Ronald ‘Sonny’ Visintainer

CRYSTAL FALLS -- Ronald "Sonny" Visintainer passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.

Ron was born on Sept. 17, 1937, in Norway, son of the late Roland and Helen (Oizle) Visintainer. He married Kathy Miller on Oct. 27, 1962, in Marquette, and they spent 63 years together.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; two sons, David and Jim; a brother, Ray (Marilyn) Visintainer of Channing; two sisters, Mary Groeneveld and Pat (Tom) Pearman of Norway; a brother-in-law, Marvin (Kathy) Chartier of Norway; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ron is preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Visintainer of Quinnesec; an infant son, Joseph; brother Duane Visintainer; sister Kathleen (Marvin) Chartier of Norway; sister-in-law Sandra Visintainer; beloved mother and father-in-law, Docy and Claire Miller; brothers-in-laws John (Margaret) Miller and Gerald Miller; and sister-in-law Ruth (Harold) Mares, who over the years, included our family as part of theirs.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Iron County Medical Center in Crystal Falls for their excellent care of Ron, and the hematology and oncology staff, especially Dr. Morel, of the Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson for their excellent care over the past years.

Per Ron's request, there will be no formal services, though a Celebration of Ron's Life will be held at a later date.
