KINGSFORD -- Sharon Poquette, 89, of Kingsford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2026, at Evergreen Meadows in Norway.
Sharon started creating wood crafts and beautiful jewelry called Sharon's Crafts and participated in local craft fairs for many years alongside her daughter, Vicki "Susie." She enjoyed painting and making her own ceramics.
She and Robert spent much of their time at the camp in Crystal Falls on the gorgeous Paint River. The couple also shared a passion for gardening, which they proudly passed on to their children and grandchildren.
Sharon was known for holiday baking. The family would fight over her fudge.
Sharon made the best dressing and potato salad that was requested for every family dinner.
Sharon had a passion for animals. She had always had a pet dog and always made sure even the neighborhood critters were fed and cared for. But, above all she cherished the time she spent with her children and her grandchildren where beautiful memories were made.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her three children, Vicki (Bob) Sparpana of Kingsford, Joseph (Angela) Poquette of Kingsford, and Julie (Tony) Sparapani of Iron Mountain; seven grandchildren, Angela Elliott-Johnson (Troy), Crystale Poquette, Joseph Poquette, Leonard Poquette, Mychael Hall, Melissa (Clint) Ocain, and Jesse Poquette; five great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Bob Poquette; son Larry Poquette; and her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the American Martyrs Catholic Church, 908 W. Sagola Ave., with Father Greg Heikkala officiating the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
