Alfred Sauld

NIAGARA, Wis. -- Alfred James Sauld, 80, of Niagara, Wis., passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center following a six-year battle with bladder cancer.

Born on July 4, 1946, in Norway, Alfred was the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Poirier) Sauld. A 1964 graduate of Niagara High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after graduation and served for two years in the Vietnam War.

Together with his wife, he traveled and hiked extensively across the globe, exploring France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Nepal, Central America and locations throughout the United States. He also cherished time spent at his hunting camp. Al always took what the trail gave him and it gave him a lot.
