AURORA, Wis. -- Don X. Kirby, 74, of Aurora, Wis., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, from a short battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 19, 1952, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Clyde and Jeanette (Brouliette) Kirby. Don grew up in Aurora and was a graduate of Florence High School, Class of 1970. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1974.
Don married Linda Latondress on June 30, 1979, in Iron Mountain. He worked for Smeester as a truck driver.
Don was an avid fisherman and gardener. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, playing cards, and listening to music. Most of all Don enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Kirby; two sons, Kyle Kirby and Adam (Sandie) Kirby; one grandson, Quentin (Zowie) Kirby; one brother, Jerry (Alice) Kirby of Aurora, Wis.; one sister, Marge (Guy) Paquin of Norway; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one brother, George Kirby; and one sister, Marilyn Holtien.
