Kathy was born on Nov. 30, 1957, in Iron River, the youngest of four children born to the late Adlore (Joe) Schober and Geraldine (Applin) Schober. She attended the local schools and graduated from West Iron County in 1976.
After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was based in Pensacola for the four years she served. She really loved her country.
