Nancy Mueller

AUDUBON, Pa. -- Nancy Mueller, 87, of Audubon, Pa., died on Sept. 29, 2026.

Nancy was born on Dec. 25, 1938, at home in Felch, to Gustave and Hulda Isaacson. Her mother died in childbirth when Nancy was 3. In her elementary school years, Nancy went to live with Albert and Ada Salen in Menominee, who raised her. Ada later adopted her.

Nancy graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., and studied at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago, where she played Snow White in a production of the play broadcast on national television. She worked as a church organist at First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford, and later as a supervisor at a daycare center.

Nancy married Russell, pastor of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain, in 1967 and was devoted to her family. Together they had two children, Candace (married to Joseph J. Centeno) and Hans (married to Melissa Shusterman); and four grandchildren, Henry, Seisha, Joseph, and Paris. The family lived in Iron Mountain from 1969 to 1975.

Those who knew Nancy will remember her genuinely warm personality and her love of painting, drama, candy making, stained glass, paper making, paper sculpture, gardening, and culinary artistry.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Russell; her brother, Milton; her children; and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, Donald, and Alte. In keeping with her wishes, her body has been donated to science.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Road, Audubon, on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Philabundance, 3616 S. Galloway St., Philadelphia, PA 19148, or to your place of worship.
