LORETTO -- William "Bill" G. Beaudin, 88, of Loretto, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born at home on June 5, 1938, in Harvey, to the late Lawrence and Mildred (Saxton) Beaudin.
Bill was raised in Harvey, and left in 1955 at the age of 17 years old, when he joined the United States Army. He proudly served from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He married Joan Eck on Feb. 6, 1962, in Marquette. She preceded him in death in 2007.
When he was in the sixth grade, he realized his love for construction because he was more interested in watching the highway construction going on outside the building than his schoolwork.
He worked construction in Gwinn at the Air Force Base prior to moving to Iron Mountain in 1964. He worked for 20 years with A. Lindberg and Sons. He worked for U.P. Trailer Sales and was a truck driver for Shoe Co. until 1978. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union from 1978 until his retirement in 2000.
After retirement, he moved to Loretto, where he drove a truck for Gunville Warehouse for 10 more years. When he was not working or driving a truck, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Dickinson Memorial Gardens in Iron Mountain.
