Good job done by departing IM superintendent

Bouquets and Barbs

Bouquet – From Bob Furno, Iron Mountain: Thank you, Raph Rittenhouse, for a job well done as Iron Mountain School District superintendent under difficult and trying circumstances for you and your family. To your credit, you have handled the adversity with class with malice towards none.

You have maintained your focus on the student, the best interests of the district and leave a large footprint for those who will follow you.

Mary Beth and I wish you and your family all the best. God bless.

Niagara historical group appreciated coverage

Bouquet – From Karen Klenke, Niagara, Wis.: Can’t say thank you enough to The Daily News and your creative staff for supporting the Niagara Area Historical Society.

Newspapers give strength to events and projects in our communities, so we are taking the time to say thank you for that. Our small group at the Niagara museum have felt the response from stories and photos you have done for us — so again, we say thank you for that.

New American flag at Cancer Loan Closet

Bouquet – From Diane Schabo, president of the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet: I would like to thank The Daily News for running our “Barb” regarding our stolen American flag. Because of your effort to support the Cancer Loan Closet, we have a new American flag flying. It shows our local communities are still made up of good people and we’d like to thank Donna and Karl Domitrovich for coming to our aid. Thank you, Daily News, and thank you, local residents.
