Reflect on those in law enforcement who made the ‘ultimate sacrifice’
National Police Week is May 10 through 16. In a normal year, there would be numerous Law Enforcement memorial services or events all across this nation.
This, of course, is far from a normal year. Events of this nature are being cancelled, including our local annual observation.
It is still important and appropriate to pause this week and reflect upon the “ultimate sacrifice” many law enforcement officers have made with the loss of their lives in the performance of their duty in the past year.
In 2019 we mourned the loss of 135 officers nationwide, two of which were here in Wisconsin.
Somehow, especially this year, we must communicate a huge thank you to the dedicated men and women protecting us in their service to law, order and public safety.
