Questions votes by Bergman

U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman’s back to his old tricks. On May 18, Bergman voted against U.S. House Resolution 1124, which provided for consideration of H.R. 350, Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act; H.R. 7688, Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act; and H.R.7790, Infant Formula Supplemental Appropriation Act.

Though it passed in the House on May 18, nearly all the Republicans, Bergman among them, refused to vote for H.R. 7790 that would provide $28 million to address the shortage of infant formula, prevent future shortages, and prevent fraudulent products from entering the U.S. market.

The U.S. House also passed H.R. 350, The Domestic Terrorism Act of 2022. It expands the availability of information on domestic terrorism as well as the relationship between domestic terrorism and hate crimes. It authorizes the domestic terrorism components within Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the FBI to monitor, analyze, investigate and prosecute domestic terrorism and to jointly report on domestic terrorism, including white supremacist-related incidents or attempted incidents. Bergman voted against that one, too.

So U.S. Rep. Bergman doesn’t appear to care if price gouging is going on at the gas pump, if baby formula is in short supply or if domestic terrorism and hate crimes are rising and related. He doesn’t have to say it. His votes already have.
