Everything is fine?

A brief overview of Thursday’s Daily News revealed a couple of interesting observations. There was a story about how newspapers are shutting down all across the country and that it could represent a threat to our democracy. Starvation does the same thing.

It appears that only the newspapers that get their stories from syndicates like Associated Press can afford to stay in business. I remember when they called the mob a syndicate. In fact, I heard a well-known Democrat, Bobby Kennedy, use that exact word. Who could forget his New England accent when threatening the crime families of the day? The reason I mention it is because there is a reasonable similarity between the criminals lying in court then and the stories released by the AP.

The next interesting article was talking about how most people think the country is moving in the wrong direction and that 79% think the economy is bad (a far cry from the Trump days). It mentions that eight in 10 Democrats think we are moving in the wrong direction, also. A spark of hope?

But then, as is the style of the left-leaning AP, they try to twist it into the Roe v. Wade ruling. As if to say that the ruling is what makes people think we are moving in the wrong direction.

No wonder newspapers are shutting down. Sensible readers are tired of the props.

How about this: The 20% of the folks who think everything is fine either don’t have a car or someone else is buying their gas.
