In response to the Letter to the Editor in Monday’s Daily News, in which one concerned citizen wrote the words that hundreds of millions of other Christian citizens agree with on the topic of abortion, I must say, Mr. Jones hit the nail on the head except for one small point, and that is, how can politicians who claim the moral high ground and say they believe in human kindness, which supposedly motivates their actions, wish to violate God’s laws and the laws of our nation by murdering innocent babies in their mother’s womb? Babies, by the way, are human. Did we forget that somehow?

The article about Veterans Administration burial benefit being corrected so all veterans are treated equally regardless of where they die is well past due. I’m glad Senator Peters and a couple of Republican senators from Indiana and Alaska are trying to fix this problem, but why did it take Senator Peters seven years to figure it out and address it just before the midterm elections? What are they doing about inflation? More importantly, why are we begging our enemies for oil when Biden is responsible for shutting down our own oil pipelines? Governor Whitmer will do the same with Enbridge’s Line 5 if she could … she’s trying. We could easily produce the oil OPEC is holding back. The ships that bring oil from the Middle East burn diesel fuel and emit millions of tons of CO2. Where’s the logic?
