Election results prompt call to pray for America

America’s a great country, but she’s dying. And we have only ourselves to blame.

The day after the election I woke up, wept, and then said my daily prayer for our country. It’s unfathomable to me how people can continue to elect leaders that are spending us into bankruptcy, dismantling our police forces, decriminalizing thugs and destroying our hard-won energy independence. We grovel for gas and oil from countries that neither like nor respect us and punish our own natural resource providers. People can’t afford groceries or gas. Interest rates are going through the roof.

And yet we keep spending. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. Anything “given” must be paid for, including free illegal immigrant cell phones, hotel housing, transportation, clothing, health care, etc. Who’ll pay for the student loan forgiveness plan — those who worked hard to pay off their own debt? Who’s funding the unending spending to Ukraine? You and me.

This is unsustainable. Despite the fact that 75% of Americans think we’re headed in the wrong direction, many of the same people who brought us here were just re-elected. Biden’s already stated that he doesn’t plan to change, so it’s going to be more of the same.

The definition of insanity is repeating the same mistakes over and over but expecting a different outcome. Will anything change from this election? Nope. Same people, same problems. Sadly, I see no reason to celebrate.

May God help us. Please pray for America, she’s going to need it.
