DICSA seeks millage renewal

With the upcoming vote Feb. 27 to renew the Dickinson County senior millage, I am writing to inform area residents of just how much the millage dollars impact our area seniors.

DICSA, the Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency, receives a good portion of the millage dollars. We use the funds to support these level of services to eligible senior residents. The numbers below are annual counts from 2023 in Dickinson County alone.

— 67,945 meals delivered to 340 homebound seniors;

— 26,981 meals served in a group setting;

— 49 households receiving 5,260 hours of in-home care (cleaning, laundry, meal prep, personal care, respite, etc.);

— 33 individuals receiving 10,577 hours of adult day care at Family Ties Adult Center;

— 7,741 rides provided by DICSA’s Transportation.

For more information on these and other DICSA services, please see our website at www.dicsami.org.

The DICSA staff and board are grateful to the taxpayers for supporting this millage in the past. We are honored to provide these services to our senior community and hope to continue to do so at the same an level for years to come.
