Few thoughts on ‘dictator for a day’

Hello again. I had just a quick thought I wanted to share and hope it makes some of you think long and hard.

We have a man running for president who says that he plans to be a “dictator for a day.” Just the first day. I am not a historian but I have read a lot of history and cannot remember anyone who was a “dictator for a day.” But let me expand on that thought just a bit.

If that were to happen, if there was a “dictator for a day,” YOU would no longer be self-governing. After nearly 250 years, the experiment of self-governance would be gone on that one day. You and the rest of us would be the governed and not the governing. Does that appeal to you? Do you want to go from they who choose to they who obey?

You do know that if someone — anyone — was dictator for any period of time, the Constitution and our entire form of government is gone. Let me give one example. NO more Second Amendment rights. Goodbye, you who must obey. You do realize that no dictator permits the governed, that is those who must obey, to possess firearms. Go ahead. Look it up.

But don’t talk about it. You also have no more free speech. Don’t get together with friends. No more freedom of assembly. And so on and so forth.

Here is a thought. Order a copy of the Constitution from Barnes & Noble or another bookshop. Read what you are going to no longer have. Still sound good to you?

One last thought. All who take an oath to the Constitution that has fallen are no longer in the position that they formerly held. Goodbye, Congress. We don’t need you. The dictator is all you now need to heed.

And heed that person you will. Again, I invite you to read a bit of history.

I don’t want to leave you on a down note, so let’s face it — you will quickly learn to jump when the man with the whip swings it. And soon you will happily accept that. Right?
