Seek the truth and act on it

Let me begin this by acknowledging the awards this paper has recently won. Congratulations. It reflects well on your publication, and it furthers my previously stated remarks on why people need to buy and read their local newspaper. Television goes just so far due to time constraints and the other electronic media is so manipulated as to be worthless. So again, for every story researched and told as fully as possible, even down to the most local level, thank you.

Continuing the theme of storytelling, I have noticed the national political scene and I am amused. Yes, I said amused. They take a snippet of film and portray that as full coverage of an event when in fact it is an event manipulated to the level of an outright lie. Where is the amusement in that? Well, it is amusing that some people using these tricks believe the majority of us will fall for them.

Let me give you an example that I have noticed in conjunction with my own life. I have neuropathy affecting my feet and it is caused by a severe back injury that I suffered during my military service, causing damage to many nerves. This is not caused by diabetes, as affects many, but a nerve injury. It will never get “better,” but it has been the case since 1964 so certainly something I can deal with. However it dictates footwear for myself and it does affect the way I walk.

President Biden also has this condition and also not caused by diabetes. Notice how he sometimes looks like he is walking on eggs. I can only tell you that for me, this condition, which is not painful, does affect my nervous system and again, for me, sometime a certain shoe MUST come off and right now. I can only wonder what it would be like to have to wear a “dress shoe” to comply with business-style apparel.

Personally my thought is “poor Joe Biden.” But does seeing him take those steps make me believe he cannot do his job? No. I have done my research and understand his condition and mine and I know this irritation does not cause me to “lose a step” in my life performance, if you will pardon the pun.

I could go on with other examples of the “lying” through methods other than the spoken word, but I don’t believe I need to. Look for the “lie,” laugh it off and then continue seeking the truth and then act upon it, for the good of all of us. After all, we are the United States of America. WE the people. I can’t speak for you but I am not going to let a lie in any form take my freedom and my part in self-governing. How about you?
