Supports renewal of Bay IM millage
EDITOR:
Thank you, Dickinson County residents.
Twenty years ago, my parents, Ted and Eleanor Fornetti, donated family land in the hope that Bay College could have an Iron Mountain campus. Thanks to you, a millage was passed supporting the need to have access to affordable education and the Bay campus opened in 2007.
Due to your actions, there have been numerous enhancements to the community. Examples of these are skilled training provided for local businesses and dual enrollment for high school students, enabling them to attain college credits.
For our seniors, rehab and elder health facilities benefit by employing graduates from Bay. This fall, the new Emergency Medical Service programs — paramedic and EMT — will strengthen emergency care throughout the area.
The list goes on … and your contribution has made a significant impact for the past 20 years. You have made a difference.
In that same spirit, residents are asked to vote for a millage RENEWAL … this is not a new tax. This is not an increase, but a continuation at the same rate for another 20 years.
Passing this millage will keep tuition costs reasonable for students and their families. There is no question that having Bay in your backyard has elevated access to education and enhanced the community.
Thank you for all you have done and I ask for your continued support for this millage. Let’s keep moving forward for the community and its residents … for YOU!
Get out and vote “Yes” for the Bay College millage renewal on or before Aug. 5.
