Passing the tab torch
If you have been saving the tabs, you can start turning them in. Please look at what you are turning in and no large tabs; they are not aluminum.
Ronald McDonald House had two tab tosses this spring. With the tabs they collected — double the price of aluminum on those days — plus the monetary donations, here are the results: Milwaukee 7,354,800 tabs, Green Bay 5,891,800 tabs for a grand total for both of $18,000.
The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association 8-player all-star game was held this summer in Oshkosh. Two players from Florence participated. It serves as a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. It raised $350,000.
I have someone who will be taking over tab collection in the area. She is is Erika Heikkila from Iron River. She wants to go for 3 million tabs. She will continue where I left off, at 2,100,000.
