Remembering Dave ‘The Can Man’ Dawe

Letter to the Editor

Dave Dawe

Dave “The Can Man & Tangler” Dawe: Nov. 14, 1951 — Feb. 11, 2025.

I CAN make it through the next 24 hours.

I CAN make today better than yesterday!

I CAN make someone laugh today!

I CAN teach a survival class.

I CAN choose to focus on what I have, not what I want!

I CAN ride this bike, with this uncomfortable seat, ALL DAY!

I CAN attract an audience of people to me for conversation about many things.

I CAN make people think of me even when I’m not where I’m supposed to be!

I CAN choose to see the good in people I meet today.

I CAN reach out for help if I need it!

I CAN overcome whatever obstacle is in my way.

I CAN listen to those around me.

I CAN tune out the noise and chaos of the whole universe.

I CAN thank God for my gift of being able to sketch beautiful scenery.

I CAN Love!

I CAN BE Loved!

I CAN BEGIN AGAIN!

And so by faith, even if the size of a mustard seed, Dave “The Can Man” Dawe began life again on Feb. 11, 2025, sketching heaven’s scenery and experiencing.

The quiet presence and neverending love of Jesus Christ!

THANK YOU, DAVE, for filling our lives with your many CANS! You are missed by your many friends.

Starting at $3.50/week.
