More incompetence at the top in Iran attacks
Letter to the Editor
Just a clarification on this latest war with Iran. As Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated a few weeks ago, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu contacted President Donald Trump and told him Israel is attacking Iran and Trump decided to go along and be part of it.
Just as with the incompetence the Iraq War was thought out, we now have a duplication, as the disruption to the world’s oil distribution is causing major economic problems around the world. Trump, of course, thought it would be a Venezuelan operation as he called for Iran’s unconditional surrender after some of the first strikes. Only a fool would believe they would surrender.
(Just a quick side note: When Saddam Hussein’s statue was toppled a giant of an Iraqi man can be seen pounding the statue with a sledgehammer. He was a blacksmith by trade. He was interviewed a year later and stated: “Saddam Hussein in power set us back 100 years; taking him out of power set us back 300 years.”)
Hopefully, this ends with some sort of reasonable agreement. However, if this ends badly for us, Trump has already laid the groundwork to find a fall guy. A few days ago in front of reporters Trump told Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, “You were the first one to speak up and say ‘Let’s do it,'” referring to the question of whether to attack Iran.
The reasons change like the weather as to why the attack took place. Regime change, missile buildup and, of course, nuclear capabilities (They must really have the best rebuilding capabilities in the world, considering it was announced their nuclear capabilities were completely destroyed last June. Fact: Netanyahu has been stating for literally 30 years Iran is a few weeks away from a nuclear weapon — 30 years is a long few weeks.)
Once again, as with Iraq and Afghanistan, our and their soldiers, along with innocent civilians of the nation attacked, will pay the price for incompetence at the top. Is anyone surprised?
