On Wednesday, the Northwoods Antique Tractor Club will have its 12th-annual Tractor Ride to the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
We will leave Lodal Park in Kingsford — note: this is a new departure site — at 10 a.m. and travel Breitung Avenue east to Carpenter Avenue, north to H Street, then east to the VA, where participants will circle in the front loop for veterans who line up to watch.
Kingsford Public Safety will coordinate with Iron Mountain and VA police for the ride. Caution is advised for our slow-moving tractors to remain safe.
Most of the club members are veterans and come from around the area. But you need not be a member of the club to be involved in the ride. Tractors need not be antiques but should be able to go 8 to 10 mph.
Questions? Call Vance Jones at 906-542-6955. Leave a message if I’m not in and I will call you back.
