Be wise with your vote for US Senate

Letter to the Editor

No matter what you are reading or seeing, this is the bottom line of the midterm election for U.S. senator here in Michigan: Socialism or capitalism.

Socialism has never worked and it won't work now. We must think past ourselves. Hatred, jealousy, greed, power and so many other negative attributes must be left to die. We are Americans who have always stuck together through hard times as well as good. This midterm election, if nothing else, will show what each of us is made of. Will we think only of ourselves or will we do what's right as patriotic Americans who love their country? Yes, we are far from perfect but we have always supported each other in time of need. Now we must support our children and grandchildren.

Times look bleak as socialism rears its ugly head. What we choose in the voting booth will have lasting effects on our young people who will be left to live with our selfish decisions. Enough with the hateful rhetoric that is tearing our families and country apart. We must put those differences aside and choose the best possible outcome for the next generation.

As Abdullah El-Sayed's bus tour slogan says, "It really shouldn't be that hard." No, it shouldn't and it isn't. We either to continue to strive for the "American Dream" and leave our children the best possible inheritance, "FREEDOM." Or we allow hatred to rule and we follow the socialist path of no return.

The choice is up to us. Be wise in the decision made. We are not given a "Mulligan" or, if you don't play golf, a "do-over" in life.

Starting at /week.
