Daily News photos don’t show virus precautions

Barb: Pictures say a thousand words. I am very disappointed in the recent pictures in the paper of local interest that do not show people properly masked or socially distanced. You as a newspaper have provided a subtle message to the community that everything is back to “normal.”
The new normal, until more information is known on the COVID-19 virus and an effective vaccine is available and taken by the community, is that we must be protective of ourselves, family and neighbors. New cases continue to be detected in the community and our surrounding areas. That means all need to practice social distancing and wear masks properly to keep number of cases low.
I would encourage that when pictures are in the paper or on line that they reflect these guidelines, or deny the use of pictures. Your photographer could even provide masks to the individuals for the pictures.
