From Paula Wedger and Casey, Forest Lake, Minn.:

I would like to publicly thank two officers of the Kingsford Public Safety Department for rescuing my little dog Saturday night, Oct. 23.

Officer Lee Crandall and Officer Jeremy Maki found my dog, Casey, 6 miles from my parents’ home in Iron Mountain. They brought her to Almost Home Animal Shelter overnight.

Thanks to them and the people at the shelter for giving Casey care, comfort and concern.

I am truly grateful they found her. It was 24 degrees that night and she was shivering.
