Law enforcement agencies, we are blessed for your assistance. Even after the foot search was called off for the night, there were police cars patrolling and K9 units in the woods. Norway and Iron Mountain police, Michigan State Police, a drone from Wisconsin, K9s from Florence and Menominee counties, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Menominee County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan Department of Natural Resources all took part.

All my fellow EMS and fire department colleagues, you will never be forgotten for all your help: North Alert EMS, Dickinson and Delta Search and Rescue, Norway, Quinnesec, Breiting (both departments), Meyer, Gladstone and Escanaba Fire Department personnel. A lot of agencies are volunteer and need members to answer calls.

My best friend, Heidi Schiesser, provided warm food and drinks, keeping me grounded. You stayed with me after the search was called off and drove me around to search some more.

My parents, Bob and Kathy LaRoche, for collecting donated items from area businesses, putting fliers up and getting me to where I had to go.

My aunt, Kelly Zahn, for the help on scene, staying with me throughout the night and also driving me around to search some more.
