Bouquet: We would like to thank our community for supporting the 2024 Stomp the Snow event.
The Family Snowshoe Charity Association Board, which presented the second-annual Stomp the Snow event on Jan. 20, was blown away again by the amount of participation for this free winter family fun event.
This year we had more than 200 lanterns and 200 glow wands spread over four trails (loops). Even though we were experiencing the coldest temperatures of the season that week, we estimated that close to 500 people enjoyed the evening with family and friends. We were amazed at how far people traveled to join us and the number of people who never snowshoed before and are now hooked.
This year, Pine Grove Country Club offered their famous pasta bar and specialty drinks, while live music sponsored by Systems Control was provided by Datura, a local string trio.

The Dickinson County Community Foundation provided a mini-grant to help pay for bigger shepherd's hooks to hang the lanterns. Dave from RC Fabricators not only made the hooks for us but also a beautiful custom firepit.
More than 200 businesses, organizations and individuals who dedicated memorials for loved ones contributed by sponsoring individual lanterns.
I can't say enough good things about our local media that went above and beyond providing us TV, radio and newspaper coverage. Dickinson County Tourism Association also provided funds to purchase the "I Support Stomp the Snow" signs you saw around town.
We also need to acknowledge the support of the two charities: Pine Creek Wood Working and Imagination Factory Children's Museum. Both organizations provided volunteers who helped us set up, clean up and were there during the event assisting with the activities. A special thank you goes out to Dewey and Doc (Wender), who made a special appearance and gave horse-drawn wagon rides around the facilities. Without their help, this event would not have been so successful.
It takes a lot of people to pull off a successful event like this and I am sure we are missing people who should be acknowledged. We just want everyone to know that we appreciate their support and we are honored to be part of this community.
