A tribute to the old Kingsford 107th Guard —

As a veteran and a 20-year member from 1963 to 1983, I give a big salute to the early members that served before me and those I served with. Most of us served at one time or another in a dangerous situation. I served in the 1967 Detroit riots.

We had a small (because most have passed on) picnic at Cowboy Lake on Sept. 3. It was great to see old-school, trusted (have your back) friends who stood and still do stand for the flag and this country.
