A week to celebrate the importance of paper
Bouquets and Barbs
Bouquet — From Two Sides North America, Portland, Oregon:
Two Sides North America, a non-profit organization advocating for the sustainable attributes of print, paper and paper-based packaging, marked its annual Love Paper Week this week. This celebration highlights the unique role of paper as a smart, sustainable staple in our everyday lives.
“Love Paper Week is a powerful opportunity to remind brands, customers and consumers why it is okay to love paper, and that it is important for the industry to share the love,” Jules Van Sant, executive director of Two Sides North America, said in a news release.
Love Paper Week is celebrated across the globe to amplify the positive impact paper products have on everyday life and the amazing environmental story they have to tell. Paper is renewable, recyclable and the natural support of new ideas and creativity.
“Beyond celebration, it’s a chance to highlight sustainability, functionality, craftsmanship, creativity, and the enduring value of print,” Van Sant said.
Two Sides North America is a member-supported non-profit advocacy organization for the graphic communications paper and paper-based packaging industries. TSNA works to dispel common environmental misconceptions and to inspire and inform businesses and consumers with engaging, factual information about the environmental sustainability and value of print, paper and paper-based packaging.
TSNA sponsors the Love Paper campaign, the North American part of a global initiative to educate the public about paper’s sustainable attributes, highlighting the renewability and recyclability of paper-based products while addressing common environmental misconceptions.
Love Paper runs Love Paper Week annually during the first week of February to promote the sustainability and value of paper. During Love Paper Week, printers, paper merchants, packaging manufacturers, publishers, direct mail agencies, other industry stakeholders and consumers are encouraged to participate by sharing campaign materials supplied by the organization to educate clients and consumers about the sustainable attributes and love of paper.
