Bouquet: The Dickinson Area Child Advocacy Center is expressing its sincere gratitude to CSA Air, M.J. Electric and an anonymous donor whose generous contributions made it possible for three DACAC staff members to attend the 2026 Justice for Children Conference in Detroit.
The funding supported travel and registration for two forensic interviewers and one child advocate, allowing the team to participate in Michigan's largest annual training event dedicated to improving the investigation, prosecution, and treatment response to child abuse.
The Justice for Children Conference brings together professionals from law enforcement, child welfare, prosecution, medical care, mental health, and child advocacy centers for advanced instruction in trauma-informed interviewing, multidisciplinary teamwork, child abuse investigations and best-practice approaches to supporting children and families. Attendees had access to nationally recognized presenters, specialized workshops, and emerging research aimed at strengthening coordinated community response.
DACAC staff returned with updated skills, new tools for supporting children in crisis, and strengthened partnerships with agencies across the state.
"Our ability to provide high-quality, trauma-informed services depends on ongoing training," DACAC representatives said. "The generosity of CSA Air, M.J. Electric, and our anonymous donor ensured that our team could access the most current and effective practices for serving children in Dickinson, Iron and Florence counties, as well as the City of Niagara."
The Dickinson Area Child Advocacy Center operates as a branch of Caring House Inc., providing a safe, child-focused environment where children can share their experiences with trained professionals.
The center works closely with law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical providers, and mental health professionals to ensure children receive comprehensive care.
