There seems to be a smoke issue in the area.

Fire pits and meat and fish smokers in heavily populated neighborhoods are just not used due to many respiratory problems among the very young and the elderly, like COPD, chronic bronchitis, cancer and allergies. A lot of oxygen users, also.

We are a very caring and neighborhood-friendly community and the phrase “suck it up,” is not acceptable. We open our doors and windows in the summer at night to cool our homes for sleeping.

Right now there is an abundance of goldenrod due to heavy rains in the spring, and the emissions from the mill and foundry all compound breathing problems.

Fireplaces and outdoor furnaces in the winter also add to year-round allergies and smoke issues.

It would be nice if we all could only be considerate of each other’s needs. Let’s try!
