I have been watching and listening and naturally being amazed at the amount of misinformation being disseminated by too many groups. I want to say so much and could do that, as I have the education, the information, the real-life experience and the intelligence to do that. This time, though, I will limit myself greatly. Most of you have heard of computers and the internet. That minority of you who do not have a computer or do not use the internet have public libraries as an open and available resource.

So today, I am going to say just this: Go to an honest source of information, such as the U.S. Constitution and the Bill or Rights. Read it. If you do not understand what you are reading, just ask. How many times have you heard the old saying that there is no such thing as a dumb question. Questions help you gain understanding.

I would suggest you read what it takes to change the U.S. Constitution. I keep hearing certain groups wanting to remove and nullify the Second Amendment. Read what that would take. I have already detailed that in this paper and will not bore you with it again. I will only say that making or changing or repealing any amendment is a long process that requires the will of a vast majority of the U.S. population. Our basic amendments are quite safe. They have survived well over 200 years.

I am not saying to do nothing. We have to be educated and motivated to maintain and pass down to our children our freedom-based lifestyle. Be careful of what you read. Check whether or not it is true before you pass it along. There are entities who have been trying to destroy our lifestyle for all of the 200-plus years. In those years, there have always been more patriotic Americans who stepped up and preserved it and passed it along to us.

Only 1 percent of us served in the military. Seventy percent of Americans right now cannot serve for physical or psychological reasons. Yet that is enough, if the majority of those who do not serve support those who do.

Before the internet, there were many methods for our enemies to attack us openly and covertly. They have always been there and they will always be there. But so have the patriots.

Only you can decide if you choose to support those who are tearing at our lifestyle or if you are one of the patriots. It just requires thinking on your part and the desire to know the truth. As one old television show used to say, “The truth is out there.”
