A suggestion for the DCHS loan

I want to give some perspective on the possible $7 million loan for Dickinson County Hospital. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2017 the population of Dickinson County was 25,417. Divide $7 million by the population of the county and you get $275.40 per every man, woman, and child. That is not including interest.

I support the loan to help keep our hospital operating until the federal loan comes through. Bart Stupak says the county will get our money back, if used, with interest. I will set all my cynicism aside if the former congressman and every county commissioner that votes for the loan put up their homes as security for the loan. I don’t see this as much of a problem, considering local banks will be used.
