Neither side responded correctly

EDITOR:

A couple of months ago a 17-year-old shot and killed two people and seriously injured another during the debacle that took place in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Of course, both political parties responded with their expected rhetoric and buffoonery that has become all too common in this day and age.

It was not that long ago, that the response from both sides would have been, what still today needed to be stated: “We cannot find it acceptable for 17-year-old teenagers to be on our streets with loaded weapons.” To think that a 17-year-old with a loaded firearm has the mental capacity to make rational decisions in an intense confrontational situation as was occurring in Kenosha is beyond comprehension. (Military training from our armed forces aside.)

After doing some research on the shooter and seeing other photographs of him, I would not trust him with a loaded BB gun, let alone a loaded AR-15-style rifle. He literally looks like a cartoon character in some photographs. As I have stated before in other articles, something called “common sense” has gone right down the drain in America. I think it would be in the best interest for all Americans if we start to try and retrieve it. Thank you.
