It’s time to say ‘enough’

EDITOR:

It was a well-attended meeting for the U.P. Patriots, featuring the guest speaker, former WLUC-TV6 meteorologist Karl Bohnak.

Mr. Bohnak did a great job of increasing the enthusiasm of the already energized crowd. Much of his speech was about losing his job for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccination. He felt that he could not stay quiet about what had happened to him. In his own words, “Our way of life, our freedom and liberty is collapsing right before our eyes … It is time to honor those who served. For me, I honor them by saying, ‘Enough.'”

It was a very compelling speech and the crowd seemed motivated to act. But, will they? Are you going to do something? Have you written to your elected officials or called them to voice your disapproval of what is happening? Have you written a letter to the editor to let people know what is going on? Have you joined an organization, made a contribution to a candidate, showed up for a rally or ran for an elected office?

British statesman Edmond Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Everyone can do something and together, we can make a change.

It is time to say, “Enough.”
