The Tab Man sets a goal of 2 million for Ronald McDonald House

Let’s kick it in gear and start tabbing. We want to go for 2 million. We need to get more people involved — family, friends, relatives and businesses.

Remember, I’m the gopher. You have to feed me. You drop the tabs off I have to gopher them.

Please make sure the tabs you drop off are aluminum. Those large ones off of soup or stews cans, etc. are metal.

Tidbit — Matt, son of Karen and Jeff Forbes of Florence, Wis,. had kidney surgery at Children’s Hospital. The family was very thankful for Ronald McDonald House and the hospitality they received.

Since its origin, 52,000 families have stayed there. It costs just over $115 per night for a family. They suggest a mere $20 per night donation. No family has ever been turned away for inabilities to pay. All drop off locations are still on board.

When I stopped at Sach’s, Lisa kicked it off with 27,400 tabs. People dropped off tabs over the winter so I picked them up. We already have 191,700 toward the next million.

Drop off locations are The Mine Shaft Bar & Grill, 101 Bar & Grill, Northern Lites in Florence, Saloon No. 2 in Spread Eagle, Sach’s in Tipler, Bob & Jerry’s in Kingsford, Tom & Jo’s Liquor, Stephenson Marketing in Aurora, and Nichols Flooring & Stone in Iron River.
